The Alabama CFO 2021theme is....
                          Let Jesus Arise in Power

The first Alabama CFO was held 78 years ago.  Over the years it has met in many different locations but it has been held at Camp Sumatanga for over 50 years.  Camp Sumatanga is a Methodist Camp and Conference Center nestled at the foot of a cross crowned mountain near a 50 acre lake.  It is a special place of beauty and inspiration enjoyed by all ages.

Special activities for Alabama CFO include: a mountain hike with worship at the chapel on the top of the mountain, ice cream night, a bonfire for the children, and a family communion and blessing time the final night.

What to Pack: Toiletries, casual clothes, swimsuit, towels, tennis shoes, light jacket, watch, alarm clock, BIBLE, journal or notebook.  NO PETS ALLOWED. Please NO iPods, gaming devices or any other distracting electrical items. Those staying in Family rooms will need to bring twin sized bedding, blanket & pillow.

Cost Details

The terms Single, Double, etc. refers to the cost per person, for the week, age 11 & up and includes 3 meals a day (whether eaten or not). There is a $45 fee for children age 4 and under. Up to 6 persons allowed per family room, 4 in double rooms, 2 in King. 

All rooms must have at least one adult age 18 or older.

Registration Family Maximum $225.  After May 15, a $40 late fee will be added to the total. 

Registration fee is due with registration.  Room and board is due at check in but may be paid with registration for faster check in.

Room and Board rates listed are per person Sunday supper through Friday lunch.  They include 3 meals per day (whether eaten or not.)

Make checks payable to ALABAMA CFO.  Mail to Vickey Dunn, PO Box 530463, Birmingham, AL  35253.  If paying through PayPal, additional processing fees will be added to the final amount due. 


Scholarships are available for first time campers and spaces are limited. For an application, please contact Kimberly Arnwine with any questions at 205-966-8088. All scholarship recipients are required to pay their own registration fees and fully participate in all CFO activities.  Please apply no later than May 15.
