What

Saturday, February 15-Monday February 17, 2020 (Presidents Weekend), Zone 5 will host a Retreat and legally-mandated business meeting for the 6 camps of CFO Zone 5 (Arizona, Arrowhead, Healing, Shasta, Silver Sierra and SoCal).

Tina Bracken, CFO North America’s Financial and Administrative Director, will premier the new video by Shimon Galliley, Terry Teng, and others that has been created for presentation to all 2020 camps. The new Strategic Plan for CFO’s next five years will provide direction going forward as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of Camps Farthest Out (1930-2020).

Each Zone 5 Camp is asked to send two voting representatives to this important gathering.  We also encourage visitors to come at a reduced rate.  Since Zone 5 is hosting the Annual Meeting of CFO in September, we all need to pitch in and share the responsibilities.

United Methodist Church of Yucaipa, CA will host the event.  Saturday we will start with a Valentines brunch and end with lunch on Monday.  Sunday morning we will participate with the local congregation in the morning service.  This particular church has partnered over the years with several CFO events in the area. 

The church will be soliciting host homes for Saturday and Sunday nights.  Attendees can also seek out their own lodging if they desire. 

We attempted to keep the costs down to encourage participation.

Ontario Airport is about 35 miles away and we can help provide transportation if needed.  Palm Springs Airport (40 miles away) is also an option.

We will be cooking meals in the church’s commercial kitchen.  Volunteers are welcome to help Margaret Meyncke’s team.  Contact her at m.meyncke@gmail.com.

Cost Details

Methodist church is arranging host housing through their congregation at no charge.  There are nearby motels available for those that want private housing
