Covid-19 update for Annual 6/27/2020

We are still scheduled for Aug 31 to Sept 04, with ACR starting August 30.

6/27/2020 Update-Zephyr Point plans to open their two retreat centers July 17.  We are following reports from the Governor of Nevada. Zephyr Point is legally in Nevada, as Lake Tahoe is shared by California and Nevada.  We are following Governor Sisolak’s announcements: casinos open June 4, Phase 2 is paused and Phase 3 beginning rescheduled.  Effective 6/26 face masks are required in all public settings.  We will update this page in weeks to come.

Air Transporation - Check your favorite carrier(s) web or mobile pages and see what they show for Covid-19 preparations.  Southwest is one example of new cleaning and filtration protocols.  Southwest also has an “empty middle” seat plan effective through September 30.  They are a good example to read and check your other favorite carriers.  Some carriers are now very generous on refunds or extended credits for longer periods of times if you choose to cancel a booking due to any new Covid-19 concerns.

Since I know many may be delaying registering due to the concerns we all have had on Covid-19 restrictions throughout the country, we are doing the following:

Deleted late registration ($100) after June 30.  Registration still is $75

Since we still want everyone to register ASAP, we will guarantee a refund if there are any issues.

For those mailing a check to our registrar Glenn Florey, the check must be made out exactly to “Camps Farthest Out, Inc.” without any abbreviations due to our bank protocols.  The bank could return the check otherwise.  I was in the midst of changing this until our bank branch closed for Covid-19.  You can put in the memo section “Annual Zone 5”.

Zone 5 is very positive about the event and will continue to monitor regulations as they unfold.  We have already talked about worst case scenarios and feel confident.  Lake Tahoe is beautiful, the air is great, and God is awaiting our arrival.
