Influenced by her family of seven from western Nebraska, Carissa grew up knowing God sacrificed His Son to save her, and that He is with her, hears her, and holds her. Now as an adult, Carissa is discovering her Lord as her Provider, Friend, Pursuer of her heart, Source of Strength, Joy Giver, Hope, and Help. Carissa has served as a youth leader, speaker and worship leader in CFO, as captain of the Wheaton College Women’s Basketball Team, as youth pastor in NYC, as an emergency medical provider on her county’s volunteer rescue squad and other ambulance services, and now as a MHS Pathologist Assistant (PA, ASCP) in Sioux Falls, SD. She has learned many lessons about becoming an athlete in the Spirit through discipline, injury, and disappointment. Carissa has learned much about humble service, the unfathomable love of God, and our call to continual growth and deeper intimacy with Jesus Christ. She has also experienced the blessings of the wider body of Christ through both long and short term mission and vision trips to Peru, and her passion is to share these learnings, and more importantly the love of God, with His children - you!
