George Furniss met Glenn Clark and Frank Laubach when he was in high school and has been involved in CFO and CFOI ever since.  His CFO experience of prayer, healing, and Kingdom Living was central to his long career as a hospital chaplain.  Earlier he was a college sociology teacher.  His book, The Social Context of Pastoral Care, is used in theological seminaries.  Now retired, he serves as parish assistant alongside his pastor wife, Sandra Larson, at First Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Oregon.  George has four adult children and seven grandchildren from his marriage with Ruth who died in 2000.  Sandy has three children, one grandchild, and another on the way.  He loves Bible study, travel, swimming, cross-country skiing and, of course, attending CFO camps.
