John D. Reese organized the New Covenant Christian Fellowship, a Charismatic church in Dothan, Alabama, in 1972, and he continued to serve as the Pastor of that congregation until he retired in January of 2014. Today he is the Pastor Emeritus. His original ordination was by the Southern Presbyterian Church in June of 1954. He received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1969 while he was living in Ozark, Alabama, where he served as the pastor of the Ozark and Union Presbyterian Churches for 17 years. John D. was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He received a BA in Philosophy from Southwestern-At-Memphis, now Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. He then completed summer language studies at the University of Florence, Italy, before entering the Waldensian School of Theology in Rome to study church history. He met Gemma Anna Maria Coisson in Rome, where they were married in July of 1956. They have four married children and seventeen grandchildren, three of whom are married, and 6 great grandchildren. By the grace of God, all are walking faithfully with the Lord and serving in the churches where they live.
